How We Work

A small shop, with a specific point of view.

We're not the biggest body shop on Vancouver Island, and we have no interest in being. We're a small craftsman shop that does a small number of jobs well, on the South Island Highway, the way we'd want it done to our own car.

The Short Version

Take the time it takes. Use the right material. Tell the customer the truth. Stand behind it for life.

That's the whole approach.

Five Principles

What you can count on, every time.

01

Take the time it takes.

A panel done right takes longer than one done fast. We won't shortcut the prep, the metal work, or the cure time to hit someone else's schedule. If a job is going to take an extra week, we'll tell you that — we won't rush it and hand back something we wouldn't want in our own driveway.

02

Metal first, filler second.

Rust gets cut out and replaced with welded sheet metal. Bondo has its place — for smoothing body lines, not for carrying weight or covering holes. If a panel needs replacement, we replace it. The repair you can't see is the only kind worth doing.

03

One shop, every step.

Body, paint, mechanical and detail — all in our own bay, by the same crew, start to finish. Nothing outsourced to a sub-shop with its own standards. You only have one phone number to call, one person to talk to, and one shop to hold accountable. That's the point of a small shop.

04

Honest estimates. Plain English.

Free, written, and itemized. We tell you what the job needs, what it costs, and what would change the number. If we find something we didn't expect once the panel is off, you'll hear from us before we touch it. No surprises on the invoice — ever.

05

Guaranteed for as long as you own the car.

A lifetime workmanship guarantee on every job we do. If anything we built or painted ever fails, bring it back — for as long as the car is in your name, we'll make it right. Paint manufacturer warranties stack on top of that. We don't put work into the world we won't stand behind.

In One Line
"We'd rather lose a job than do a bad one."
Promise 01

The estimate is free. And it's the number.

Drop by with the car, or send a few photos to [email protected]. We come back inside one business day with a written, itemized estimate — in plain English.

The estimate covers what we expect the job to take, broken down by labour and parts. We'll tell you which line items are firm and which could move if we find something underneath. We won't pad the number to give ourselves room, and we won't lowball you to win the job.

If something does change once the panel comes off — a hidden rust pocket, a bent inner structure, a part on national back-order — you'll hear about it before we proceed. You decide whether to authorise the change. No surprises on the invoice.

Free, no obligation, no upsell. If you'd rather go to another shop after seeing the estimate, that's fine — at least you know what the job should cost.

Promise 02

A guarantee for as long as you own the car.

Every job we deliver is backed by a lifetime workmanship guarantee. That covers our work — welds, panel fitment, paint adhesion, finish quality — for as long as the vehicle stays in your name.

If anything we built or sprayed develops a problem that's down to our workmanship, bring the car back. We'll fix it, no argument and no invoice. Paint manufacturer warranties (typically 3–5 years against fade, peel, and chemical etch) stack on top of our guarantee.

The guarantee doesn't cover normal wear and tear, future collision damage, or the parts of a vehicle we didn't touch. But on the work that has our name on it, we stand behind it — that's the whole point of being a small shop with a long memory.

Have a question about a job we did? Call the shop and ask. We keep records on every car we touch.
